Rhino Safari

Rhinoceros is one of the most ferocious and mightiest animals in Kenya. Kenya rhino safari takes you to a number of national parks and reserves wherein you will get to see numerous wild rhinos prowling across jungles.

Of late, there has been a substantial decrease in the number of rhinos in Kenya. This is mainly sure to poaching for their horns. One of the Big Five wildlife attractions in Kenya, rhinos are preserved and guarded in the wildlife parks to help in their survival.

Black Rhinos and White Rhinos are the two most common species seen during Kenya rhino safaris. Quite ironically though, both the species look gray in color, and it is quite difficult to differentiate them.

Nakuru National Park is the prime spot for rhino safaris in Kenya. Situated is the midst of Lake Nakuru, a shallow and alkaline little lake in the Great Rift Valley, the national park is visited by lakhs of tourists every year.

Known mainly for its collection of flamingoes – more than millions in number – Nakuru is also home to more than 80 majestic rhinos. Declared a rhino sanctuary in 1987, Nakuru is one of the safest and progressive breeding grounds for these animals.

On your Kenya rhino safari, you can easily see rhinos grazing on the glades around the lake. However, black rhinos are not that frequently seen on open fields, as they feed on forest areas.

Masai Mara National Reserve is also one of the popular places for rhino safaris in Kenya. It has the greatest population of wild animals in Africa. Home to numerous Black Rhinos, Masai Mara is a must-see national park in Kenya . A huge herd of rhinos walking around the clearings is a spectacular sight indeed.
